The Engaged Church Summary

In September, 2008, our congregation embarked on a process (not a program) called “Growing an Engaged Church.”  The heart of this is simple—Engaged Members—those who feel a strong “heart connection” to their church tend to be more spiritually committed than those who are not engaged.  They
• worship more frequently
• invite others to worship, events or activities
• serve more in their own unique and creative ways
• give selflessly of time and resources

Engagement is different from involvement.  Involvement is what you do at your church.  Engagement is how you feel about your church. It’s about belonging and making a difference, and as a result, growing in Christ.

“A spiritually healthy church is the good soil that produces fruit in abundance – and engagement is the key.”
