Growing in Jesus
Fully devoted followers of Jesus are growing in their love and knowledge. Since this includes children, there are many opportunities for growth at Trinity:
- Trinity’s Sunday School (BLAST) has a class for preschool age children as well as K – 2.
- Trinity’s Vacation Bible School is offered the first full week in August 2-6, 2010 from 9-12 PM includes classes for children four through sixth grade.
- Classes for two-year olds and their parents are offered periodically on Sunday mornings. These are advertised in the Announcer and through special announcer. For information on upcoming classes contact Judy Williams at 586.463.8803 x142
Trinity Early Childhood Center offers a variety of educational opportunities for children:
Special Events
At various times throughout the year Trinity hosts special events for families with young children.
Trinity is a Faith Stepping Stones© church—sponsoring opportunities for Christian growth at special times in the lives of children
- Baptism
- Baptismal Remembrance Service. Each year on the Sunday after Epiphany when we remember the baptism of our Lord, Trinity remembers all those baptized the previous year at Trinity. Once again we are reminded of the blessings God gives us in this precious sacrament and our commitment to “grow in the love and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 3:18 – NIV)
- First Bible Class. Children going into second grade, along with their parents, attend a three session class on learning some basics of what the Bible is and contains and how to use it, especially for growth and study in the home. At the conclusion of the class, parents present their children with their first study Bible.
- First Communion Classes In the fall of each year we offer 1st Communion classes to all 6th graders of our congregation and their parents. Students and their parents can choose to participate in these classes or you are welcome to wait for your child to receive instruction in Holy Communion through our Confirmation program. (Note: Students should be “baptized” before attending 1st Communion Classes.)
- Confirmation
